Attega Group are currently partnering exclusively with our client in recruiting a Junior Estimator to join the team.
The main purpose of this role is to compile interdisciplinary estimates (construction and engineering) by drawing an assessment on information varying from site survey notes and sketches to detailed design work.
In return, our client is offering a salary of up to £50,000 P/A, depending on experience, plus 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, bonus based on individual performance and company performance, pension scheme and many more.
This is a full-time, permanent role. The hours of work will be 8:30am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday and work from home Friday.
Reporting to the Projects Director your responsibilities will include:
- Review of tender documents ensuring bid compliance.
- Carrying out estimating duties from raising tender enquiries to holding final tender adjudications.
- Identifying value engineering solutions.
- Review of quotations received from suppliers/subcontractors and relevant terms and conditions.
- Working with contract administrator/PMO Coordinator to issue out purchase orders to sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Monitor project costs, maintaining change control logs and producing monthly valuations for senior PM sign-off.
- Commercial management of subcontractors including processing payments, obtaining final account agreements, and resolving disputed issues by negotiation, if appropriate.
The ideal candidate:
- 6+ months cost management / QS consultancy experience of similar role for design and build or main contractor.
- Evidence of involvement in and understanding of construction law and contractual terms in all standard contract forms
- Experience in compiling multi-discipline tenders
- Have a good understanding of technical drawings
- Ability to prioritise and deal with high volumes of information
- Strong customer facing skills
- Driver’s license, role is primarily office-based role but able to commute around the country
