Shift Engineering Manager – Nights
Salary: £52,000 - £58,000 DOE
Location: Evesham, Worcestershire
Orion Electrotech are working with a leading food manufacturer known for high-quality products. We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee daily operations and lead a team of engineers in ensuring equipment efficiency and compliance with safety standards in a fast-moving FMCG environment.
Shift Engineering Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Assist management in overseeing daily operations and meeting departmental KPIs.
- Supervise and complete planned maintenance (PMs) while identifying areas for improvement.
- Communicate breakdowns, repairs, and progress clearly via verbal, email, and shift reports.
- Perform mechanical and electrical system repairs efficiently.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and QA teams on production concerns.
- Supervise pre-startup checks of equipment and ensure readiness for production.
- Identify opportunities for plant efficiency improvements to enhance productivity.
- Ensure adherence to company procedures, legislation, and best practices.
- Assign, train, and supervise the engineering team on shift and manage ADP requests.
Shift Engineering Manager Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in FMCG production.
- Strong knowledge of PMs, mechanical/electrical repairs, and production efficiency improvements.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Hands-on approach in supporting engineers with breakdowns and repairs.
- Strong understanding of safety standards; IOSH, HACCP Level 3, and Food Safety Level 3 qualifications are beneficial (training available).
