The Role - Manufacturing Engineer

My client, a leading manufacture specialising in the aerospace and defence industry, is currently seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join the team.

As a supply chain biased Manufacturing Engineer you’ll need to be able to demonstrate strong technical background of working with suppliers new and old to ensure capability to deliver the business needs, and consistently improving cross businesses processes.

Due to the nature of the work and working closely with suppliers, you will need to be flexible and prepared to travel, including within the UK & Europe.

 

Key Responsibilities - Manufacturing Engineer

  • Technical support to suppliers on the improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Support a cross functional supplier management team.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for manufacturing capability issues.
  • Ensure suppliers understand requirement’s part design intent.
  • Using a range of lean sigma tools, lead problem solving activities.
  • Gap analysis of existing and new supplier relating to manufacturing capability.
  • Communicate across business functions on supplier Manufacturing Engineering issues.

 

Qualifications & Requirements – Manufacturing Engineer

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (engineering / manufacturing)
  • Expert in GD&T
  • Strong data driven decision-making.
  • Strong manufacturing capability assessment.
  • Experience in some of: (PFMEA, control plan, MSA, capability analysis, error proofing)
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations.
  • Formal continuous improvement qualification
