About the Role:We are seeking a Corporate Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice and play a key role in their corporate team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant looking to develop their career in a dynamic and varied environment. The role includes accounts preparation, tax, bookkeeping, VAT, and audit work, offering exposure to a broad client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, prepare, and review accounts, bookkeeping, and VAT returns for a range of clients.
- Prepare personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Advise clients on accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and assist with system setup and troubleshooting.
- Stay up to date with industry developments and software updates to enhance efficiency.
- Provide ad hoc support to the line manager, including administrative tasks and team billing.
- Set budgets for staff and provide guidance on accounts completion.
- Train and mentor trainees, supporting their professional development.
- Maintain strong client relationships, handling queries in a proactive and client-focused manner.
- Undertake audit work, requiring some time out of the office at client sites.

Essential:
- AAT/ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounts preparation.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, VAT, and tax return preparation.
- Proficiency in Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
- Solid Excel skills (intermediate level).
- Excellent client communication and supervisory abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience working with charity accounts.
- Familiarity with filing company confirmation statements.
- Experience using CCH software.
