Corporate Accountant (Qualified/Part-Qualified)

About the Role:

We are seeking a Corporate Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice and play a key role in their corporate team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant looking to develop their career in a dynamic and varied environment. The role includes accounts preparation, tax, bookkeeping, VAT, and audit work, offering exposure to a broad client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and review accounts, bookkeeping, and VAT returns for a range of clients.
  • Prepare personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Advise clients on accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and assist with system setup and troubleshooting.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and software updates to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the line manager, including administrative tasks and team billing.
  • Set budgets for staff and provide guidance on accounts completion.
  • Train and mentor trainees, supporting their professional development.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, handling queries in a proactive and client-focused manner.
  • Undertake audit work, requiring some time out of the office at client sites.

What they are Looking For:

Essential:

  • AAT/ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounts preparation.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping, VAT, and tax return preparation.
  • Proficiency in Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
  • Solid Excel skills (intermediate level).
  • Excellent client communication and supervisory abilities.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with charity accounts.
  • Familiarity with filing company confirmation statements.
  • Experience using CCH software.
