Our client, a market leading organisation based in Exeter, is seeking an exceptional Financial Accountant to join their team in a permanent, full-time capacity. This opportunity would suit candidates looking to make their first mover from Practice or those with industry experience. The company offers hybrid working and a strong benefits package.
As Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive financial accounting services whilst maintaining robust financial systems and controls, ensuring regulatory compliance.
The responsibilities:
- Ensure general ledger accuracy through meticulous review of postings and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead and execute month-end financial procedures, working in tandem with Assistant Accountants.
- Spearhead the preparation of year-end audit documentation and support the creation of statutory accounts for the group and its subsidiaries.
- Contribute to the preparation of year-end tax computations for multiple group entities.
- Oversee VAT processes across group companies, guaranteeing compliance with current tax regulations.
- Mentor and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering their growth and expertise.
- Collaborate with senior management to enhance and refine the internal control framework.
- Design and implement departmental KPIs, driving continuous improvement through data-driven insights.
The candidate:
- ACA/ACCA qualified with demonstratable experience in a similar role.
- Advanced Excel skills and comprehensive understanding of IFRS reporting standards.
- Adaptable professional capable of driving process improvements in dynamic environments
- Strong leadership and collaborative skills with ability to work independently
- Meticulous, proactive approach to managing complex financial responsibilities
