Product Engineer

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity within global Aerospace manufacturer who are currently expanding due to further investment, for an experienced and pro-active Product Engineer to develop, implement and maintain best practice through all product engineering activities within their CNC Tooling environment. You will be fully relied upon toapply comprehensive understanding of production planning, control and basic manufacturing systems. The role will also be to ensure that products meet customer's geometry to within dimensional tolerances, so previous experience within a tooling environment would be highly beneficial.

The Role:
  • To technically support production of high-quality castings to customers requirements by managing programmes and executing engineering project assignments.
  • You will be usingCAE tools for CNC machining, CAD, and 3D modelling.
  • Effective management of individual part programswhilst applying Six Sigma/DMAIC methodologies to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and drive process improvement.
  • Delivery of high-quality products whichconsistently meet customer specifications, minimizing rework and scrap.
  • Continuous improvement of dimensional processes and implementation of effective process controls.
Preferred Skills:
  • Tooling design and/or CAD experience.
  • Injection moulding and/or ceramics processing experience
  • A minimum of 4 years of applicable engineering experience and knowledge of multidiscipline engineering principles.
  • Degree/HNC or equivalent in Engineering discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and ABS.
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office, MS Project, MRP systems).
  • Good understanding of geometrical calculations.
  • Ability to effectively utilise quality tools in practical applications.
Working Hours:
8am-4pm or 8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Friday
