Purchase Ledger Clerk (Temporary)Exeter, Devon£13-14p/h35hpw

Our client, a leading southwest based organisation, is currently seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their dynamic team on a full-time, temporary basis.

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will play a key role in providing financial administrative support, focusing on maintaining an accurate and compliant purchase ledger, while supporting senior management and the wider finance team.

The responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Process purchase orders, goods received notes (GRNs), and invoices.
  • Advise staff on procurement procedures.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and ensure accurate coding.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and manage invoice queries.
  • Ensure timely payment to suppliers within agreed terms.
  • Produce weekly supplier payment runs and monthly reports (e.g., aged creditor reports).
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and management accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial procedures and policies.

The candidate:

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced finance function with strong Purchase Ledger skills.
  • AAT part or full qualification, qualified by experience will be considered.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload independently and accurately.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of numeracy and attention to detail.
