Job Summary: As an Accounts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing a range of financial services, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional accounting solutions. Your responsibilities will include handling day-to-day client requests, supporting business development, and providing leadership to a team of Accounts Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Portfolio Management:

    • Manage a portfolio of clients, offering a comprehensive suite of services, including annual accounts, self-assessment tax, corporation tax, VAT, bookkeeping, and other specialized areas of work.
  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and understanding of our services.
  • Team Oversight and Support:

    • Oversee the work of Accounts Assistants, providing necessary support and training to ensure the team's efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proactive Client Support:

    • Proactively support clients with their accounting and tax planning needs, offering strategic advice to optimize their financial performance.
  • Timely Solution Delivery:

    • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of accounting solutions, meeting customer needs and objectives.
  • Accounts Reporting:

    • Produce and prepare regular account updates for clients and management, communicating financial insights and recommendations.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Review work completed by team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and effectively communicate with clients to ensure understanding of their business's financial performance and obligations.
  • Monitoring and Analysis:

    • Successfully monitor clients' management accounts, explaining any variances and identifying planning opportunities to enhance financial outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong understanding of financial services, including annual accounts, tax, VAT, and bookkeeping.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and support junior team members.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
