DK Recruitment are working with an ambitious, multi-award-winning company based in Ottery St Mary, Devon in their search for a newly created Financial Controller position. The RoleAn exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Finance Manager/Financial Controller to support growth plans. You will play a pivotal role in leading the day-to-day finance operations, overseeing a team of two part-time assistants, and working closely with the Senior Management Team.This role offers a unique blend of strategic input and hands-on financial management, making you a critical part of our Senior Management Team.Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present accurate weekly and monthly financial reports to the Senior Management Team, ensuring operational and overhead costs are tightly controlled.
  • Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including the processing of journals and investigating variances.
  • Manage cash flow effectively, ensuring liquidity and financial stability.
  • Lead the preparation of budgets and forecasts, collaborating with budget holders to ensure accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee the payroll process with a strong understanding of payroll management.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and manage end-of-year financial submissions.
  • Lead the credit control process, ensuring timely collections and managing outstanding debts.
  • Review and refine financial processes and procedures, ensuring they are efficient and scalable as the company grows.
About You 
  • You are a confident and driven financial professional with the ability to impress and influence.
  • Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience within the FMCG, Food & Drink, and online sectors is highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing accounting environment is essential.
  • Proficient in Sage Accounting software (or similar) and advanced Excel skills, with a strong aptitude for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and operational teams.
