Credit Control ManagerLocation: Exeter, DevonSalary £35-40kBenefits: Company car, 22 days holiday, free on-site parkingJob DescriptionSyntech Recruitment are currently working with one of the leaders in car rental who are looking for an experienced Credit Control Manager to manage a 6 person team at their offices in Exeter.You will be a leader with a minimum of 5 years' experience managing a busy credit control function. You will have a proven track record of managing and developing teams. A decision maker with excellent communication skills you will be equally at home providing structure and direction for your team through good delegation or rolling your sleeves up and getting involved in the detail.

What they would like you to bring to the role

  • Organising, planning, and implementing their credit control strategy
  • Maintaining accurate records and providing accurate management information
  • Ensuring debt collection processes are being followed
  • Assist in developing and optimising credit control processes and procedures
  • Checking customers' credit and approving or denying it, based on industry standards
  • Approving payment plans and setting up terms and conditions
  • Managing the credit control and fines and penalties teams
  • Coaching and mentoring existing staff within the team from motivation, development, monitoring workloads and ensuring continued development of their skills and career paths
  • Development and production of high-level MI around debt positions etc.
  • Liaison with in-house council regarding starting legal proceedings when required
  • Direct report at Board level

Hours of work

  • Monday - Friday
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00
