Finance Manager - Part Time2dpwExeter, DevonC £35,000 pro rata

We are seeking a skilled, part time Finance Manager to recruit for our Exeter based client.

This hands-on position involves overseeing all accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with legal and tax regulations, and supporting various office functions.Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain purchase and sales ledgers with precision.
  • Resolve invoice queries with suppliers and customers efficiently.
  • Manage credit control for overdue accounts.
  • Collate and record expenses, and reconcile credit card statements and bank accounts.
  • Perform month-end duties, including payment runs, journal entries, management accounting, payroll, and cashflow forecasting.
  • Administer the company pension scheme through a third-party online platform.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, accounting, and tax regulations, including VAT submissions.
  • Liaise with external accountants and business owners to ensure financial accuracy.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee HR tasks for a small office team, including Fire Safety compliance.
  • Handle general administrative duties to support colleagues across the office.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial bookkeeping experience - accounting qualifications are a plus.
  • Proficiency in Xero bookkeeping software is highly desirable.
  • Strong financial planning skills to assist the Managing Director.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • IT literate, with solid experience in Excel.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
