DevOps Lead Engineer

As the DevOps Lead Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and managing our key infrastructure across hybrid on-premises and cloud environments. This role is crucial for ensuring the stability and security of our clients systems and will involve both strategic oversight and hands-on technical work. You will report directly to senior technical leadership and play a pivotal role in driving best practices and leading a dynamic team.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Web Server Administration: Oversee IIS configuration and ensure CIS compliance.
- Azure Infrastructure Administration: Manage resources including VNets, Kubernetes clusters, App Service Plan provisioning, Entra ID, and Key Vault.
- Azure Deployment Administration: Utilize templates like Bicep for efficient Azure deployments.
- Hybrid Environment Connectivity Administration: Administer VPN networking and firewall configurations to ensure seamless connectivity.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and manage Azure credential and access management (IAM), resource patching, and SSL certificate management.
- Systems Monitoring: Monitor systems, including public endpoint protection, to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Team Leadership: Lead and shape the direction of the new team and function.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other technical teams to support all IT-driven business processes.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, deployment processes, and environment management practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a DevOps Lead or in a similar role.
- Practical experience managing Windows web servers running IIS.
- Extensive knowledge in administering Azure VNets, app service plans, firewalls, and private endpoint connections.
- Familiarity with Azure deployment strategies (e.g., ARM templates).
- Strong understanding of security best practices for on-premises and cloud environments.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics Workspace.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex environment issues.
- Effective communication skills, with leadership experience being highly desirable.
