Desktop Support Engineer

Rate: Up to £17.50 p/h based on experience

Temp - minimum 3 months

Sellick Partnership is delighted to be recruiting a Desktop Support Engineer for an immediate start for an organisation based in Exeter on a temporary basis for a minimum of 3 months.

Key requirements for the Desktop Support Engineer role will include:

  • Experience providing technical support either internally or externally.
  • Familiarity of working with/supporting smartphones, tablets, and PC's.
  • Knowledge of working with a ticketing system (preferable)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure handling multiple tasks to ensure timely completion of all activities
  • Apply a logical approach to interpret data, make recommendations, and propose solutions.

Key duties of the Desktop Support Engineer will include:

  • Providing timely and effective 2nd line support to customers/users by investigating and resolving desktop, server and networking problems whilst meeting the required business SLAs
  • Escalating incidents to other technical staff as appropriate
  • Monitoring, receiving and responding to relevant Service Desk incidents and service requests
  • Contribute to the administration, maintenance and development of IT systems.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the asset register.

Required communication for the Desktop Support Engineer role:

  • To have good communication skills and ability to liaise verbally confidently with employees and Management.
  • To listen carefully to instructions.
  • To keep your Manager up to date with any work issues that may affect deadlines.
