Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Solicitor with expertise in real estate and renewable energy to join their small, dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of property law, a passion for sustainability, and a proven track record in managing complex transactions within the renewable energy sector.
You will play a critical role in advising clients on a range of real estate and renewable energy projects, providing practical and commercially sound legal solutions to support their goals and ultimately help towards achieving a zero-carbon future.
Key Responsibilities
Real Estate Transactions
Draft, negotiate, and manage documentation for property acquisitions, leases, sales, and financing.
Advise on title investigations, land registration, and property due diligence.
Handle landlord and tenant matters, including lease agreements and renewals.
Renewable Energy Projects
Provide legal support for the development, acquisition, and operation of renewable energy projects such as wind, solar, and hydroelectric facilities.
Draft and negotiate contracts, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), connection agreements, and joint ventures.
Advise on regulatory compliance, land use, and environmental matters related to renewable energy projects.
General Legal Work
Provide advice and protection to the business in all areas of operation.
Skills and Experience
Proven experience in real estate and renewable energy law.
Strong understanding of property law and regulatory compliance in the UK.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills.
Proven track record in managing complex transactions.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.
Solicitor qualification (e.g., admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales).
Minimum 3-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in real estate and renewable energy sectors.
Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating legal documents related to property and renewable energy projects.
Membership in relevant professional bodies or associations is desirable (e.g., The Law Society).
Salary
The salary on offer for this role is negotiabledepending on experience plus a bonus scheme.
n.b this role is available as either a permanent role or a fixed term contract of 10 months to act as Maternity cover. The team will be expanding to 2 solicitors in approximately 12 months time though so the right candidate could remain in post when the existing Solicitor returns to the office.
Location
Our client's new offices are located in Devon, however, they are willing to also consider remote working for the right candidate.
