Our client is a large local government organisation and looking for an experienced Planning Administrator to join their team. This is initially a 3 month contract which may be extended for the right applicant

You will

1. To validate and register all planning applications, non-material amendments, discharge of conditions applications and pre-application enquiries; checking the technical detail and accuracy of all plans submitted to make sure they are accurately drawn and that all legal requirements are met, including downloading applications from the Planning Portal website; adding to and maintaining all relevant Statutory Registers in accordance with the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.

2. To produce Site Notices and consult non-statutory and statutory consultees on all new planning applications and record responses using the planning applications database as required by the Senior Planning Administration Officer.

3. To produce and advertise Public Notices in appropriate local newspapers and to proof the press edition.

4. Digitise site-based information directly on to the Authority’s GIS mapping system, running site related planning constraints and populating information fields in the planning applications database.

5. To deputise for the Senior Planning Administration Officer in times of absence as necessary.

6. To produce a weekly report of all applications received and publicise as required.

7. To process withdrawn applications and notify third parties.

8. To maintain the statutory register of applications; to organise all new working planning files and produce site notices for display on site.

9. To record, copy and distribute amended plans and documents, for both current and determined applications.
