This is a long-term position with the potential to become permanent, providing a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified Geography teacher to make a lasting impact.

Geography Teacher Job Description:We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Geography Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Totnes. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum, inspire students to develop a love for natural sciences and the environment, and contribute to their academic success.

Geography Teacher Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach Geography lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and/or A-Level exams, ensuring they achieve their academic targets.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, offering personalized feedback and support.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
  • Work collaboratively with the school's Geography department and other staff to share best teaching practices.
  • Engage in the wider school community and participate in extra-curricular activities when required.

Geography Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in English or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching Geography at secondary level is preferred, but strong NQTs are also welcome to apply.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for teaching Geography and inspiring students to reach their full potential.
  • Flexibility and willingness to commit to a long-term position.
