Store Manager – Exeter
Basic Salary: £33,475+ Performance Bonus (Realistic OTE 1st year £60K, long term £75K possible)
Our client is seeking an exceptional Store Manager with a strong sales management background to lead a multimillion-pound turnover store in Exeter.
The Store Manager role is a vital and integral part of our clients business. Thier customers and can count on you for valuable guidance as they seek to design the ideal home for themselves. You are an excellent listener who takes time to understand the needs of the customer and you will take a consultative approach to the sale, ensuring your customers leave having purchased the perfect product while experiencing an excellent customer journey. As an accomplished, motivational and inspirational manager you will be able to deliver a great team sales performance. You are a great people person who cares, nurtures and supports their team, someone who is able to lead by example displaying brand values and behaviours. You will be an experienced sales professional in big box retail, ideally with a background within a furniture led business.

What You’ll Be Doing as Store Manager
In this leadership role, you’ll ensure every customer leaves with an exceptional experience, managing the showroom in a way that meets ambitious sales targets while maintaining high standards. Responsibilities include,
-Driving Sales and Customer Experience: Oversee every part of the customer journey, from engagement to closing, ensuring a seamless experience that aligns with company standards.
- Inspiring and Developing Your Team: Lead, coach, and mentor your team to achieve KPIs and maximise individual and store performance.
- Brand Representation: Be a brand ambassador for the company, working with values-based leadership to instill company standards and pride in the team.
- Optimising Performance: Manage performance through training, goal-setting, and feedback to create a team of sales superstars.
- Managing Operations: Ensure the store runs smoothly, conducting daily briefings to keep your team up to date with important information, policies, and promotions.
What We’re Looking for in a Store Manager
- Proven experience in people management within high-value retail/assistaed sales (such as furniture, kitchens, bathrooms, automotive, electronics, or similar industries).
- Strong sales acumen, with a history of achieving or exceeding targets and KPIs.
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills, with a high level of resilience and an unwavering focus on the customer journey.
- Sound understanding of P&L management and a strategic approach to achieving store goals.
Store Manager – Benefits
This role offers a competitive base salary of £33,475, with realistic 1st year on-target earnings of £60,000, plus the opportunity for professional growth. The client’s top General Managers earn more than £75,000 or advance to Area Manager positions. This is a weekend trade led business, so Store Managers will work five out of every six weekends, ensuring their KPIs are hit to earn maximum bonus and success for the sales consultants.
