Bank Female Support Worker

Pay rate: £13.50 Shift Pattern: BANK up to 20 hours per week - 8:00am - 15:30pm, 15:30pm - 23:00pm, 23:00pm - 8:00amRequirements: Previous experience supporting people with a learning disability and mental health and a full UK driver’s license. 

Unfortunately, we cannot provide VISA sponsorship and we do not hire on a relocation basis, you must currently be based in/around the Exeter area and able to commute. This individual has Learning disabilities, Autism and Mental health, their interests are social media and making TikToks.

We are seeking caring and enthusiastic individuals to join our team, providing dedicated support to a young adult with complex needs in our LDA (Learning Disabilities and Autism) business unit.

Key Responsibilities

Support Workers cover all manners of support for others – from companionship and days out, to personal care and housekeeping.

  • Support with all facets of daily living.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Ensure the individual's safety and well-being at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with the individual and other team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy.
  • Adhere to care plans and guidelines provided.
  • Aid with light household chores which may include cooking, cleaning 
  • Assist with all aspects of daily living and have the ability to help someone build everyday life skills. (Cooking, cleaning, shopping and planning)
  •  Joining in at the gym and being involved in workouts.
  •  Helping to plan and organise leisure opportunities such as seeing favourite bands, walking, places of interest etc.
  •  Watching plays with them and joining in active interests. (You will need to be willing to learn about these)
  • Helping with homework

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

    • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals requiring care.
    • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
    • Empathy, patience, and compassion when interacting with individuals in need of support.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to meet varying care needs.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Willingness to undergo additional training and development as required.
    • Previous experience of supporting individuals with Autism.
    •  Previous experience of supporting individuals with mental health diagnoses.
    • Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
    • Full UK drivers licence
