Job Advert: Rough Sleeper Prevention WorkerLocation: ExeterPay: £12.56/hrContract: Short-termAbout the Role:We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Rough Sleeper Prevention Worker to join our Charity client in Exeter. This role involves delivering a high-quality, person-centred outreach service aimed at supporting rough sleepers across the Exeter Council area. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to help individuals transition off the streets and into stable accommodation.Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assertive outreach, including during unsocial hours, to engage with rough sleepers and assess their needs.
  • Develop and implement person-centred support plans that address health, social, and emotional needs.
  • Facilitate access to short-term and long-term accommodation, providing ongoing support to prevent a return to the streets.
  • Work closely with local authorities, healthcare professionals, and other agencies to deliver integrated support.
  • Participate in the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) and provide immediate outreach support during adverse weather conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to data collection and analysis to improve service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with homeless individuals or other socially excluded groups (mental health, substance misuse etc.)
  • Strong understanding of homelessness, social exclusion, and approaches to address these issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and partner agencies.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and early mornings.
  • Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
