We are working with a Southwest Local Authority who are seeking an experienced Interim Service Manager to work alongside their current Service Managers to support the improvement journey within the Corporate Parenting Care Experienced Service.

This is a challenging post which requires the balancing of practice development, service improvement and operational oversight as well as supporting Team Managers to manage their skilled teams of social workers and practitioners.

Rate: £500 per day – Umbrella

Duration: 6 months

Site Attendance: Hybrid working - The candidate will need to be flexible to attend site visits in the area as and when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be a team player and the ability to engage and communicate with other professionals is essential alongside sound knowledge of the legislation and regulations surrounding children in care and care experienced young people
  • The role requires attendance at regular MDT meetings chaired at Service Manager level to prevent the breakdown of housing arrangements of young people
  • Additional areas that will be under the remit of role include; Supporting and leading task and finish groups, Improving practice oversight and planning, Implementing stronger transitional planning
