Job Description: SEN Teaching Assistants (TAs) for Year 7 to Year 10

Location: Year 7 to Year 10 Classes

Summary:

We are seeking dedicated and skilled SEN Teaching Assistants (TAs) to support students with special educational needs (SEN) across Year 7 to Year 10. This role involves assisting pupils with their transitions around the school, supporting class-based work, and helping Year 10 students with their GCSE classwork. The successful candidates will be part of a committed team focused on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with transitioning around the school
  • Assisting with GCSE classwork for Year 10 students
  • Working with a mixed group of 8 pupils in Year 10
  • Assisting with class-based work for Year 7 and Year 8 students

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting GCSE students
  • Experience in supporting Year 7 and Year 8 students
  • Ability to manage transitions and classroom activities
  • Fit, active, and mobile due to the nature of the pupils
  • Good sense of humour and resilience
  • Knowledge of Read, Write Inc & Fresh Start for phonics teaching is desirable
  • Knowledge of Makaton would be highly desirable
