Interim Group Finance Manager

Reed Finance Norwich are delighted to be working exclusively with our client based in Stradbroke to recruit for an Interim Group Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of the entire group. This interim role is crucial for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our client’s financial reporting and supporting their strategic decision-making processes. The successful candidate will manage financial reporting and business analysis at a group level.

This position will be on an interim basis for 12 months.

Day-to-day of the role:

Financial Reporting:

  • Deliver monthly management information for 4 entities, with the assistance of one management accountant in each trading entity.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated accounts and supporting schedules, including banking covenant calculations and trade debtor and creditor reconciliations.
  • Ensure record keeping and cost mapping is consistent and that finance systems are effectively utilized for reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP (FRS102).

Cash Flow and Treasury Management:

  • Prepare and action weekly payment runs within the trading entities.
  • Handle intercompany transfers and set up payments on online banking for review and sign-off.
  • Manage the purchase of foreign currency and oversee the payment of tax liabilities across the group with support from tax advisers.
  • Assist in cash flow management as required.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial assets, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations and regular monitoring of ledgers.
  • Participate hands-on in the annual audit process and complete VAT returns for all companies within the group.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and supervise a finance team of 5, including 2 management accountants, ensuring high performance and development.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

Business Partnering and Strategic Support:

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support senior management in decision-making.
  • Support the Financial Controller with ad-hoc financial analysis and project work.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification; part-qualified or QBE considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance, with expertise in group consolidations, financial reporting, and business analysis.
  • Experience in a multi-entity group structure is advantageous.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles (UK GAAP).
  • Proficiency in financial software (Access) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders.
