Engineer - Transport NSIP and Technical Team
We are currently assisting our client in the south east to find an experienced Engineer to join their Transport NSIP and Technical Team.
The main duties of the experienced Engineer are:

- 路Provide effective technical approval services for Sizewell C and other NSIPs, ensuring that roads are adopted as highways in the future while reducing maintenance risks for the Highway Authority.
- 路Negotiate with developers and consultants on technical solutions for road layouts, junction design, drainage, footpaths, cycleways, and street lighting.
- 路Accurately record technical approval details, including drawing references and technical reports, using Mastergov or other relevant software.
- 路Liaise with SCC Legal to complete Section 38 and 278 agreements under the Highways Act 1980.
- 路Keep up to date with policy, legislation, national guidance, health and safety requirements, and technical specifications to ensure correct application by the team.
- 路Assist in the discharge of planning requirements for NSIPs.
What You Will Need to Succeed:

- 路NVQ Level 6 (graduate) or Level 5 (foundation degree), or considerable highway design experience.
- 路Working towards a professional qualification (desirable).
- 路Membership of a relevant professional organisation (desirable).
- 路Understanding of section 38 and 278 agreements, transport legislation, and technical frameworks related to planning and highway engineering (desirable).
- 路Strong verbal and written communication skills for interpreting complex technical and legislative information and delivering reports and recommendations.
- 路Ability to manage time effectively and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop solutions to complex issues.
- 路Political awareness and understanding of local government operations.
