Robert Half have been exclusively retained on a new role with the Anglia Maltings Group as they look to recruit a new Financial Controller. This role has been created by the longstanding Group Financial Controller, who is progressing into a new position within the group and will come in to join their already established team.

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate a strong technical ability, be comfortable leading the finance function, including the mentoring of team members, produce consolidated accounts for the group, and be the first point of call for all treasury matters and the external audit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management information - Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of monthly financial statements to Corporate, and the reporting of management information to AMH's bank
  • Forecasting - Leading the Group's annual budgeting cycle, and Reforecasting exercise, including consolidation of Group's budgeted financial statements, liquidity and covenant forecasting and preparing presentations to the Board and the Group's bank.
  • External Audit - Accountable for the delivery of an efficient and timely audit process that meets regulatory requirements, while seeking opportunities to improve the audit process
  • Treasury management - Daily monitoring and reporting of the Group's liquidity position, ensuring sufficient liquidity in operating divisions and executing FX hedging.
  • Direct and Indirect tax - Responsible for producing the annual draft Corporation Tax calculations and liaising with tax advisors. Responsible for the UK Group's VAT returns and other tax submissions.
  • Continuous Improvement - Support CI projects to generate efficiencies in the Company's processes relevant to the scope of the role.
  • Support Finance Director with ad hoc corporate strategy development.
  • People Leadership - Lead and motivate a team of three, and effectively communicate and liaise with divisional finance teams

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified accountant ideally from a technical background. (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • 3+ years' experience leading a Finance function within a large complex organisation.
  • Strong analytical background, with proven experience working in a strong controls' environment
  • Prior experience of leading and audit and working with external partners.
  • Used to working in and managing tight reporting timetables on a monthly basis

Salary and Benefits:

The role of Financial Controller is offered with a salary of up to £85,000 plus bonus and an excellent benefits package.
