Part-Time Accountant/Bookkeeper (3 Days per Week)

Location: North Norfolk

Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 3 days per week

Client: Large, family-owned rural estate specialising in diversified operations such as farming, conservation, forestry, renewables, minerals, property management, and open gardens.

Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Accountant/Bookkeeper to join their team and ensure smooth financial operations. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will handle financial administration, including accounts, payroll, pensions, and banking tasks. This role will support various estate functions, making it ideal for an adaptable and dedicated individual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage financial records using Farmplan Business Manager software.
  • Process receipts and invoices, manage supplier payments, and record sales data.
  • Oversee payroll processing and wage payments using BRIGHTPAY.
  • Manage bank accounts, conduct reconciliations, and submit VAT returns.
  • Update estate records and data and input electricity meter readings.
  • Support year-end processes in collaboration with external accountants.
  • Assist with estate operations, including helping during the opening of gardens and supporting farm and property management tasks.
  • Answer telephone inquiries and welcome visitors.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (experience with Farmplan Business Manager and BRIGHTPAY preferred but not essential).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour.
