Key Responsibilities:
  • Champion Our Vision: Embrace and promote our company values, policies, and procedures.
  • Safety First: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and relevant legislation.
  • Compliance Guru: Monitor vehicle and driver compliance with legal requirements, analyse results, and implement improvements.
  • Risk Assessor: Conduct risk assessments on customer premises for new or significant changes.
  • Logistics Innovator: Investigate and address logistics issues to improve routes and service quality using cutting-edge systems (e.g., Telematics, Dynamics, GLAD).
  • Resource Coordinator: Organize and coordinate resources, including temporary workers, to meet logistics requirements.
  • Team Leader: Lead, manage, and develop personnel, addressing absence, disciplinary issues, and training needs.
  • Budget Master: Develop and manage functional budgets, monitor activities, and resolve variances.
  • Efficiency Expert: Ensure route optimization savings and profitability.
  • Commission Calculator: Prepare commission calculations for drivers and maintain system accuracy (e.g., TMS, Dynamics).
  • Relationship Builder: Maintain effective relationships between logistics, service, and production departments to enhance customer service.
  • Service Level Champion: Ensure drivers meet planned service levels.
  • Continuous Improver: Propose and implement improvements for continuous functional enhancement.
  • Eco-Warrior: Minimize environmental impact through efficient routes.
  • Workwear Compliance: Ensure compliance with EN14065 standard, reduce customer losses, and meet Customer Delivery Driver KPIs.
  • Fleet Manager: Maintain fleet standards and implement LEAN processes.
  • Tech Promoter: Promote and implement technologies to improve data capture in logistics.

  • Lean Expert: Experience with lean (Six Sigma) implementation in manufacturing systems (preferred).
  • Financially Astute: Knowledge of budget forecasting (preferred).
  • Licensed Professional: A valid HGV 2 license/UK Driver's License with a minimum of 1 year (preferred) and no more than 6 points.
  • Educated and Experienced: Degree level education or equivalent experience in leading and managing a team within a customer-focused environment, with a proven track record of success.
  • Continuous Improvement Advocate: Experience in implementing continuous improvement programs.
  • Certified Competence: Certificate of Professional Competence holder.
