Your new companyThis not-for-profit organisation's purpose is to deliver excellent services to its local community. As such, they are looking for the right candidate to join them as a Management Accountant to help them achieve this ambition. The organisation is evolving and would like to become increasingly dynamic and innovative. The role of the finance team is critical in driving the organisation forward, and this is an exciting opportunity to join them on a permanent basis.Your new roleYou will be responsible for providing a high quality financial service, and you will ensure your work complies with financial reporting standards and accounting codes of practice. You will have a key role in the annual accounts process and be responsible for the completion of statutory returns.You will work with the service as a business partner to provide financial analysis which supports service / council improvement and change and provide direction and support to your small team. In addition, you will support the preparation of robust forecasts against budget. You will play a key role in the contribution to financial performance reports and business cases for change. In addition, you will play a key role in the development of medium and long term planning, assisting in Best Value reviews.What you'll need to succeedYou must be a professionally qualified accountant with a CCAB accounting body or CIMA with experience in a similar role. You will also have a knowledge of legislative requirements, accounting codes of practice, and be up-to-date with all accounting and technical developments. In addition, you will have excellent communications skills, and have the ability to explain financial information and concepts to non-financial staff in an engaging way. Flexibility and adaptability will also be required, as will a commitment to personal development.
