Mechanical Engineer to join a globally leading Chemical manufacturer industry based in Falkirk, Scotland. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will ensure the smooth operation of a manufacturing plant and take ownership of the maintenance strategy for a state-of-the-art facility. Your primary responsibilities will include providing essential support to technicians in maintaining critical equipment such as pumps, fans, pipework, and safety systems.

Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the PPM for a chemicals manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitor and manage costs, identify opportunities for improvement, and take necessary actions to meet budgetary targets.
  • Create and evaluate strategies in line with production, supply chain, and product objectives.
  • Leverage data analysis to identify areas for reliability improvement and implement programs to ensure optimal equipment performance.

The ideal candidate for this Mechanical Engineer role should have solid experience in a similar position with a strong understanding of engineering principles (candidates with a Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer background are welcome), familiarity with relevant legislation, and proficiency in current best practice tools and techniques, including CMMS (preferably SAP PM), along with experience in managing contractors.
