Here at southern Water, there has not been a better time to join than now. As the Supply Demand Planner you will be focussed on the Wastewater portfolio. This role is responsible for developing a consensus demand, forecast plan of materials and equipment required across the business and develop a forward supply plan of what, when & where materials are required. You will be managing stock levels across the network of southern water storerooms and decide what additional purchases are needed and running governance process between logistics and the field.

Your main purpose will be:

  • Control inventory levels in stockrooms across the Southern Water footprint to ensure availability of critical parts and key consumables
  • Develop robust demand plans for your product portfolio, working with Engineering and Asset Maintenance
  • Manage the monthly collaboration process with field engineering teams to review stock levels, updating planning parameters as required
  • Calculate requirements for purchasing and network redistribution
  • Work closely with the Field Service Desk on purchase order management
  • Manage inventory levels against financial targets and monitor against warehousing capacities
  • Monitor and manage stock at risk, working with the business units to reduce obsolescence risks and write-off costs
  • Collaborate with Procurement, providing long-term forecasts and tracking supplier performance
  • Identify opportunities to optimise stock holding, network rebalancing, purchasing spend and reduce transportation costs

To undertake this role, you will have:

  • Highly numerate, with a high level of proficiency in Excel and data analysis
  • Familiarity with Planning/ERP/Analysis systems and tools
  • Strong knowledge of inventory planning theory & process
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset, able to work at pace, in a changing environment

This role will be full time Monday to Friday. This is a Hybrid working role. You will receive a salary of to 35,000 per annum as well as other benefits such as 25 days holiday, company discount scheme, BUPA health cash plan and the opportunity to join a company where your development and training is as important to us as it is to you.

We are looking for people who have excellent attention to detail with strong relationship engagement experience and be comfortable managing the expectations of stakeholders. You will use your supply chain and analytical skills to create opportunity and showcase where you can add value. You will have a proficiency in Excel and data analysis whilst having either a background in engineering within the Utilities industry or be well versed in running demand a supply planning within another industry sector.
