Assistant Finance Manager, Fareham

£55k - £65k

I’m delighted to be supporting a high-growth professional services based business in Whiteley with the recruitment of a qualified Assistant Manager  / Team Leader to join their rapidly expanding UK team as Assistant Finance Manager.

This role would suit a career focused individual who is making a move from practice into industry or someone with Financial Services / Fund Accounting experience.

The role will include:

  • Support the Senior Manager in order to deliver a first-class professional service to clients, both internal and external
  • Manage the timely and accurate production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial and management reports and annual VAT returns
  • Manage the timely and accurate production of monthly CIS returns
  • Ensure financial statements prepared are in line with UK GAAP/IFRS or other appropriate standards
  • Manage stakeholder’s expectations
  • Planning and organising own client portfolio and team time planning
  • Oversight of appraisals for all team members and conduct appraisals for members of the team
  • Supervise team in relation to client activities and procedures
About you

We’re looking for a fully qualified (ACA / ACCA) Accountant who has experience of coaching and leading a team.

  • A minimum of 4 years’ practical accounting work experience
  • Direct experience of producing financial statements for a variety of entities is essential as is experience of exceptional client service and a good understanding and knowledge of current accounting legislation, regulation and working practices to include IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Experience in a financial services environment or professional practice is required and knowledge of UK VAT very desirable.
  • A strong commitment to client service excellence and a proactive and disciplined approach to work is essential as is a results driven approach.
