CMA Recruitment Group are currently exclusively supporting a rapidly expanding property group with a portfolio valued at over £300m. Based at the company’s Fareham head office, this Head of Finance role offers a unique chance to lead the finance team during a key period of growth. The business is well-known for its ambitious expansion plans and dynamic approach, offering a fast-paced and innovative environment for a motivated finance professional to thrive.

What will the Head of Finance role involve?

  • Leading the finance department, overseeing month-end, real-time financial reporting, and budgeting for multiple entities.
  • Implementing and refining group-wide reporting frameworks, ensuring accurate real-time KPIs, cash reporting, and board presentations.
  • Managing the treasury function and ensuring compliance with VAT and CIS regulations.
  • Supporting the Group Financial Controller (GFC) and Group Finance Director (GFD) on corporate transactions, asset acquisition modelling, and other strategic projects.
  • Overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including supplier and subcontractor management, sales invoicing, reconciliations, and cash forecasting.
  • Leading the preparation of annual financial statements and liaising with auditors for UK and international entities.
  • Driving internal initiatives to enhance processes, improve financial modelling, and optimize KPIs and management information.
  • Continually evolving and managing financial systems, procedures, and controls, including the development of the Financial Procedures & Controls Manual across the group.

Suitable Candidate for the Head of Finance vacancy:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified, with extensive experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the property or real estate sectors.
  • Strong experience in management accounts, statutory reporting, and leading month-end processes.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Commercially astute, capable of balancing strategic and operational responsibilities, and providing insightful financial advice to senior leadership.
  • Proactive, persistent, and able to independently drive projects forward.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • IT proficient, particularly with advanced Excel skills, and experience with integrated accounting systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous).
