Job Description:

The Senior Business Analyst supports the department's Senior Manager in identifying and implementing key strategic improvements and driving large-scale transformational initiatives across the organisation.

Location: Fareham

Contract: 6 months with potential of permanent position after 6 months

Work hours: Full time - Office Hours - Hybrid

Salary: 23.40 per hour PAYE

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of digital transformation, process improvements and optimisation strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders to define, document, and analyse business requirements, identifying and driving opportunities for business transformation and optimisation aligned to strategic goals.
  • Utilise expert data analysis techniques to uncover trends, inefficiencies, and root causes, providing strategic insights to inform business decisions and improvements.
  • Create comprehensive reports and presentations that translate complex findings into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
  • Ensure all analysis deliverables meet quality standards and manage them through formal approval and change control processes.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external vendors, overseeing system design changes to ensure alignment with organisational needs, priorities, and technical requirements.
  • Proactively identify and assess risks, issues, and opportunities within both projects and broader business processes, recommending mitigation strategies where necessary.
  • Lead the creation of business cases, ensuring analytical accuracy and alignment with organisational strategy, objectives, and available resources.
  • Establish processes to monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented solutions, using data and feedback to assess effectiveness and drive continuous improvement across initiatives.
  • Manage and provide support to a team of Business Analysts and Junior Business Analysts, including performance/welfare management, development, goal setting, and regular feedback
  • Support senior leaders in the execution of change initiatives, contributing to strategic planning and resource allocation
  • To give regular and effective service.

Essential

  • Educated to QCF level 6 OR work experience deemed to have brought the role holder to a comparable level.
  • Hold a professional practitioner level qualification in Business Analysis (e.g. BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis) or another qualification deemed to have brought the role holder to a comparable level.
  • Extensive analytical expertise.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills including senior stakeholders and partners.
  • Significant experience with complex digital transformation projects.
  • Experience in team management, monitoring performance and developing staff.
