Copello have partnered with an established Air Traffic Management business in the recruitment of a Head of Commercial.
This role offers flexible hybrid working, with onsite presence required as per business needs at the businesses headquarters in Fareham, Portsmouth as well as monthly client visits in Bristol.
Reporting to the Commercial and Service Delivery Director, this role is a key strategic position for the business. The Head of Commercial will be required to lead the commercial team to deliver all commercial activities whilst proactively driving profitability and competitiveness within the market.
This role will play a large role in driving, developing and implementing transformational change.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead a commercial team of approximately 5 professionals.
- Manage commercial strategy, driving transformational change to deliver strategic outcomes.
- Oversee contract management (pre and post-contract) to enhance profitability and mitigate risks.
- Ensure contractual compliance and adherence to relevant legislation and internal policies.
- Serve as the Ethics Officer, ensuring alignment with the Code of Ethics and effective Ethics policies.
- Evaluate contractual and legal risks of new opportunities, ensuring commercial integrity in contractual commitments.
- Lead contract negotiations with customers.
- Oversee dispute resolution activities with customers.
- Act as the primary point of contact and commercial subject matter expert, interfacing with senior customer representatives.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven track record of leading successful strategic initiatives within a commercial environment.
- Demonstrated experience in driving and delivering impactful transformational change within a commercial management team.
- Expertise in drafting, analyzing, and reviewing contracts, offering balanced and insightful perspectives on business risks and opportunities.
- Extensive background in overseeing the management of large, long-term service contracts.
- Strong experience leading contract negotiations for significant long-term agreements.
- Skilled in building and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships with senior customer representatives.
- Experience in operating within an enterprise or partnership ecosystem.
- Proven ability to negotiate and resolve contract disputes, ensuring successful outcomes.
- Experienced in leading a team of 5 or more commercial professionals within a corporate setting.
