Hunts Recruitment is looking for an experienced Senior Residential Child Care Worker for a Residential Children's home near Fareham.

Salary:£29,900 - £34,000 per annum plus optional over time as offered

Job type:Full time, permanent - 37.5 hours per week

Shifts:Monday to Sunday including earlies, mids, lates and sleep in duties as required (approx 1 per week)

This role is a full time, permanent position working across Monday to Sunday and includes an average of 1 sleep in per week. The role offers an annual basic salary of £29,900 plus additional payments for overtime and sleep-ins.

Duties to include:

  • Being responsible for leading and delegating the staff team, ensuring shifts are adequately planned and managed

  • To support and supervise junior members of staff

  • Undertaking agreed delegated management responsibilities on an ongoing basis

  • On-call responsibilities as required (average of once per week)

  • Assisting the Registered Manager to ensure the home meets its regulatory responsibility to safeguard all young people.

  • Staying up to date with relevant legislation and policies

  • Maintaining a safe and caring environment

  • Challenge unacceptable practice and know how to raise concerns

  • Managing challenging behaviour

  • Supporting with individualised care plans

Key Skills Required:

  • Experience working as a Senior Support Worker with children and young people with learning difficulties and/ or emotional behaviours

  • You will ideally hold an NVQ 3 (or above) in Children and Young people (or equivalent) or be willing to complete this qualification (provided by the home)

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal

  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence (Desirable)
