Corporate Governance Assistant

We are seeking a Corporate Governance Assistant to provide essential support to our Corporate Governance and Company Secretarial Team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in corporate governance and company secretarial duties, who are looking to apply their expertise within a dynamic legal environment.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Administer the firm’s registered office and SAIL address services.
  • Prepare for and facilitate board meetings, ensuring smooth operation and compliance with governance standards.
  • Offer corporate governance advice for the incorporation of companies and maintain statutory records.
  • Prepare and file necessary documentation with regulatory bodies such as Companies House.
  • Support due diligence efforts and manage data rooms for corporate transactions.
  • Conduct company and completion searches to assist with legal processes.
  • Provide advice and support to property management companies, including assistance with handovers.
  • Assist with corporate governance tasks related to transactions, including the use of digital signing platforms like DocuSign.
  • Engage in research to stay abreast of current developments in Corporate Governance topics and assist team members as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in corporate governance and company secretarial roles, or demonstrable skills and experience in these areas.
  • Solid understanding of the Companies Act 2006 and basic corporate governance requirements.
  • Highly organized with strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
  • Flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to work occasional long hours as required.
  • Specific qualifications in Company Secretarial work are desirable, or a keen interest in obtaining them.
