  • Knowledge of adjacent technical disciplines such as design, manufacturing, materials, aerodynamics/hydrodynamics.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
  • Eligibility to hold UK SC security clearance.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Analysis of composite structures, including progressive damage in multiple failure modes.
  • Development and calibration of bespoke material models/sub-routines to simulate complex materials behaviours.
  • Dynamic-explicit analysis methods, including impact modelling.
  • Structural dynamics and vibration analysis and testing.
  • Aero-elastic analysis and thermal analysis, including transient heat flow.
  • Structural optimisation and creation of semi-automated workflows using tools such as Isight.
  • Commercial awareness and experience of bidding.
  • Programming skills in VBA, Python, or FORTRAN.
  • Development of CAD models using Solidworks.

Domain Experience:

While technical capability is paramount, experience in aerospace, space, or weapons domains would be beneficial.
