Events Manager - £39-42,000 per annum + benefits

Based in Camberley (GU15 3PL)  Full-time, hybrid/flexible working

Overview

Working within this town centre marketing and events organisation, you will be organising and delivering large-scale events and promotions to make Camberley a destination town for businesses, employers, shoppers and residents alike.

Overview of job content

  • Reporting to the Board of Directors, directly reporting to the Chairman
  • Facilitate the delivery of all our projects and events in line with the Business Plan (including Annual Business Awards, Car Show, Christmas lights, Farmers Markets and much more….)
  •  Ensure our projects and events are delivered to a high standard, and developed to meet the needs of the business and changing needs of our town centre businesses
  • Working closely with our social media and digital marketing consultant, and site security
  • Arranging permits, licencing, security and whatever is necessary to deliver a successful, safe and enjoyable event
  • Assist with devising new events, updating and re-invigorating annual events
  • Working within/managing budgets whilst finding ways to deliver value for money, without a detrimental effect on quality and impact.  Seek new ways to secure additional funding, including sponsorship opportunities
  • To deliver all aspects of a successful re-BID campaign in conjunction with the Directors and appointed consultant in 2026
  • Attend events and other networking opportunities, acting as a host and ambassador for the organisation
  • Regular interface with and visits to local businesses, ensuring the best use of centralised resources
  • Attend Board Meetings, presenting data to the Board of Directors

Experience and personal attributes

  • Experience in an events organisation role and skilled in the planning, execution and management of projects and events from initiation to completion
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, with strong use of time management skills
  • Confident communication skills, good interpersonal skills, confident networker – able to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Creative and pro-active
  • Flexible with working hours as we will be flexible with time off in lieu and hybrid working
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of/living local to Camberley town centre
  • Comfortable working with suppliers and vendors, and working with minimal supervision

Salary and benefits

Offering between £39-42,000 per annum (negotiable dependent upon experience), for a full-time opportunity, pension and annual leave at 28 days (including Bank Holidays).  Flexibility is essential during events and peak periods – time in lieu given for working at events outside of contracted hours.
