Key Responsibilities:
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to family law solicitors and other legal professionals.
- Draft and prepare family law-related documents such as divorce petitions, child custody agreements, prenuptial agreements, and court bundles.
- Manage and organise case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and easily accessible.
- Liaise with clients and third parties, managing communication and ensuring a high level of client care.
- Arrange meetings, appointments, and court hearings for the team, ensuring all parties are well informed.
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents for family law cases, including the preparation of statements and court applications.
- Handle client enquiries, managing a professional and empathetic response.
- Maintain accurate billing and time-keeping records for legal staff.
- Support with other administrative duties as required.
Experience and Skills Requirements
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally in Family Law, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of family law processes, terminology, and documentation.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy when drafting and proofreading legal documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential client information with discretion.
- A compassionate and professional approach to client interactions.
