We are seeking a proactive Risk and Compliance Manager to enhance our firm’s risk and compliance function, focusing on automation, efficiency, and strategic advancement.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide a best-in-class internal risk and compliance function.
- Lead initiatives to streamline and automate compliance processes for improved efficiency.
- Manage daily tasks delegated by the COLP, COFA, DPO, Complaints/Claims Officer, and MLRO, maintaining regular liaison with these postholders.
- Oversee risk and compliance management, with expertise in SRA and FCA compliance models.
- Assist staff with conduct-related queries and regulatory reporting.
- Support staff with AML queries and ensure appropriate reporting mechanisms.
- Manage complaints and claims risk.
- Handle practicing certificate renewals.
- Review, monitor, and update firm-wide policies and procedures.
- Conduct file verifications and implement necessary follow-ups.
- Ensure compliance record-keeping, monitoring, and reporting are robust and effective.
- Run new starter compliance sessions and embed a culture of compliance best practice.
- Develop and deliver bespoke compliance training for staff.
- Conduct compliance audits and oversee improvement measures.
- Lead general compliance awareness initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- At least five years’ experience in legal risk and compliance management.
- Relevant risk or compliance qualifications.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Clear, concise, and consistent communication skills.
- Ability to simplify complex legal principles for a broad audience.
- Up-to-date knowledge of risk and compliance requirements in the legal profession.
