Our client is looking for a Category Buyer to join their dynamic and innovative team. The right candidate will collaborate with Marketing, R&D, and cross-functional teams across various regions to manage a portfolio of rapidly expanding categories. A strong understanding of supplier management will be essential in driving category development and supporting the organisation’s overall success. This role requires the successful candidate to be office based two days a week and three days remote, European travel is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and executing purchasing strategies for the assigned product portfolio
  • Overseeing the supplier portfolio by monitoring performance, assessing growth capacity, establishing contractual frameworks, negotiating pricing and productivity plans, managing exclusivity agreements and contracts, and ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders for clear decision-making and follow-through.
  • Keeping up to date with category developments, including product innovation, market trends, and competitor activity
  • Leading and participating in projects focused on innovation and product enhancement, including cost optimisation efforts
  • Maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication
  • Managing pricing sheets, supplier databases, and master data to ensure accuracy and accessibility

Experience and Skills Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in the consumer products industry is essential
  • Proven negotiation skills with successful results
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficient in Excel for analysis and reporting
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with various stakeholders
