Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Farnborough, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Operational Buyer to join their procurement team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring the smooth flow of materials and components essential to the production process.

Key Responsibilities of the Operational Buyer:
• Manage the procurement of materials, components, and services to meet production schedules and business requirements.
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and quality improvements.
• Monitor supplier performance, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with agreed specifications.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, including production, engineering, and supply chain teams, to maintain an efficient procurement process.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to prevent disruptions.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders and supplier agreements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.

Key Requirements of the Operational Buyer:
• Proven experience in an operational procurement or purchasing role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
