About the role:

Our client, an independent, privately owned destination restaurant is seeking a talented and experienced Head/ Lead Chef to lead the kitchen team in delivering an exceptional dining experience. If you are an experienced Sous Chef or Lead Chef in a leadership role within a restaurant environment - then this could be the job for you!

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, with a passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to food safety. As the Lead Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, managing staff and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

The Job in a nutshell.

  • Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
  • Implement innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
  • Manage inventory, ordering supplies and controlling food costs to maximise profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, promoting professional development and teamwork.
  • Monitor kitchen performance, making adjustments as necessary to improve efficiency and quality.

What we are looking for:

Our ideal Chef will have strong culinary skills with a comprehensive understanding of food production techniques. They will have excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and staff training and have an updated knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene.

Our Head Chef will have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams are a must.

What the role offers:

5 days a week including some weekends, 8am - 4.30pm
