Family Legal Assistant (Secretary/ Paralegal)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for family law and a commitment to providing exceptional support to our solicitors and clients during sensitive and complex cases.
Day to day of the role:
- Assist solicitors in the preparation of legal documents related to family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and support.
- Conduct legal research and draft memos on various family law issues.
- Manage case files and maintain organised and comprehensive case documentation.
- Liaise with clients, providing empathetic support and ensuring they are kept informed about the progress of their cases.
- Schedule appointments, court dates, and mediation sessions.
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as petitions, responses, affidavits, and briefs.
- Assist with the discovery process, including the collection, analysis, and organisation of evidence and documents.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in family law is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Dictation, note taking, meeting note taking.
- Occasionally travel and attend court when required.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- A compassionate and professional demeanour.
