Paralegal (Family)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for family law and a commitment to providing exceptional support to our solicitors and clients during sensitive and complex cases.

Day to day of the role:

  • Assist solicitors in the preparation of legal documents related to family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and support.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memos on various family law issues.
  • Manage case files and maintain organised and comprehensive case documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, providing empathetic support and ensuring they are kept informed about the progress of their cases.
  • Schedule appointments, court dates, and mediation sessions.
  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as petitions, responses, affidavits, and briefs.
  • Assist with the discovery process, including the collection, analysis, and organisation of evidence and documents.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree in law or a related field, or equivalent experience as a paralegal.
  • Previous experience in family law is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • A compassionate and professional demeanour.
  • General office & Secretarial support when required.
