A family run, reputable organisation based on the outskirts of Farnham is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team. You will be joining a multi-company business that offers a friendly working culture as well as a varied, hands-on accounts role. This role will be officed based with some flexibility to work from home after completion of probation. A great role for a versatile individual who is local to the Farnham area and is looking for their next opportunity. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and it would be advantageous if you are available at short notice.

Accounts Assistant - About The Role

In this role you will be working in a small finance team of 3 and will be reporting into the Finance Manager. You will be supporting with the daily running of the finance function and will also be required to cover for the Finance Manager when needed.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Responsible for all monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Posting of monthly journals for payroll
  • Bank reconciliations and VAT returns
  • Responsible for inter-company transactions and reconciliations
  • Reconcile credit card transactions for all companies
  • Providing cover to AP and AR functions when needed
  • Assisting the Finance Manager during month and year end

The successful Accounts Assistant will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • Experience of using Xero would be advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
