Job Title: Welder/Fabricator

Location: Faversham, Kent

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm

Our client is comprised of highly skilled and experienced engineering specialists, providing an industry-leading 24/7 worldwide service that minimises disruption and downtime to their customers operations. Services they provide include marine and industrial engineering, structural and marine fabrication, marine diesel overhaul and refurbishment, pipe fabrication, aggregate dredging, power solutions and building services and civil engineering projects.

Role Summary:

This role will be a hybrid position between the workshop and customers sites. You will be required to fabricate metal components, weld and install sheet metal structures.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

  • TIG/MIG welding of stainless steel and aluminium.
  • Visit customer sites to measure up, fabricate and fit.
  • Carry out installation of fabricated metalwork, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Carry our pipe welding / fitting.
  • Follow drawings to carry out job.
  • Operate workshop machinery, such as press brakes, guillotines, and grinders.
  • Historical experience welding to a coded standard such as BS 9606 or similar is an advantage.
  • Experience with workshop and site based working practices: construction / general industrial / marine.
  • Have own driving licence.
  • Able to work well within a team.

Experience and skills required for this position:

  • Competent in MIG and TIG welding.
  • A strong background in metalwork, welding techniques and site installation.
  • Experience with workshop and site based working practices: construction / general industrial / marine.
  • Comfortable working on customer premises.
  • Has the ability to measure up, fabricate and fit.
  • Ability to read drawings.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • CSCS card (advantageous but not essential)

  • Have a full UK driving licence.
