Ocean Freight Import Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Import Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in customs clearance, liaising with hauliers and shipping lines, obtaining releases, and arranging deliveries for both FCL and LCL operations.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage the entire customs clearance process to ensure compliance with UK and international regulations.
  • Liaise effectively with hauliers, shipping lines, and other external parties to coordinate shipping activities.
  • Obtain necessary releases from shipping lines or authorities to ensure timely cargo release.
  • Arrange deliveries, coordinating logistics for both Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL) operations.
  • Monitor and manage shipments from origin to destination to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.
  • Address and resolve any issues that arise during the import process, ensuring minimal disruption to the supply chain.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ocean freight import operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
  • Proven ability to liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, and other logistics providers.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple shipments and logistics tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
