We are seeking an Import Operations Clerk to join a dynamic and experienced team in Felixstowe. This role is ideal for someone committed to delivering exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, colleagues, and overseas agents.
Day-to-day of the role:- Handle and manage import operations for both air and ocean shipments.
- Proactively plan deliveries, manage ETAs, and ensure timely updates to clients.
- Check documentation for import customs procedures and complete import clearances.
- Manage job-level finances and ensure timely invoicing.
- Monitor all current shipments and maintain accurate records in the operating system (Cargowise).
- Ensure compliance with all relevant customs and procedural regulations.
- Provide support to the branch manager in the day-to-day running of the department.
- Previous experience in a freight forwarding import operational role.
- Understanding and completion of customs entries and required systems.
- Cargowise operational experience (preferred but not essential).
- Comprehensive training provided for any unfamiliar areas, including customs entries.
