Ocean Freight Import Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Import Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in customs clearance, liaising with hauliers and shipping lines, obtaining releases, and arranging deliveries for both FCL and LCL operations.

Day-to-day of the role:

Manage the entire customs clearance process to ensure compliance with UK and international regulations.
Liaise effectively with hauliers, shipping lines, and other external parties to coordinate shipping activities.
Obtain necessary releases from shipping lines or authorities to ensure timely cargo release.
Arrange deliveries, coordinating logistics for both Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL) operations.
Monitor and manage shipments from origin to destination to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.
Address and resolve any issues that arise during the import process, ensuring minimal disruption to the supply chain.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ocean freight import operations.
In-depth knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
Proven ability to liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, and other logistics providers.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple shipments and logistics tasks.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
