Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Freight Booking Coordinator to join a team in Felixstowe. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing freight bookings, negotiating rates, and ensuring the company maintains a good profit margin. This role involves general administrative duties, adding jobs to our system, and liaising with our global clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Freight Booking: Coordinate and manage freight bookings, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Rate Negotiation: Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to secure the best possible terms while maintaining company margins.
  • Margin Management: Monitor and ensure that all bookings are profitable and meet company margin targets.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform general administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and maintaining records.
  • System Management: Add and update jobs on the company's system, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Client Liaison: Communicate effectively with our global client base, providing updates and resolving any issues that may arise.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to secure favorable rates.
